Born in Sydney, Australia to a mother of Greek heritage, Jason Neil Gillespie is a popular Australian cricketer who represented Australia at international level, in both Tests and One Day Internationals, and Yorkshire and South Australia at first-class level. He is a right-arm fast bowler and he also bats right-handed in the lower order. Besides his Greek heritage, Gillespie is a descendant of the Kamilaroi people of Indigenous Australians.
