The Euro-Mediterranean Journalism Institute 2006 Conference
| The Euro –Mediterranean Journalism Institute 2006 Conference,
which the Secretariat General of Communication – Secretariat General of Information has placed under
its auspices, took place from 16 to 24 September 2006, on the island of Andros and in Athens, respectively.
Organized jointly by the Fund for American Studies and the Greek Association for Atlantic & European
Cooperation, it drew young journalists from all five continents. The themes that were discussed included, among others, the ethics of the mass media, the evolving media environment, as well as the coverage of political, international and other matters. At the same time, participants were offered an opportunity to learn more about the recent developments in our country and become acquainted with contemporary Greece. By offering their auspices, the two Secretariats aim at creating networks of communication and cooperation with young professionals in the international field of journalism. The conference took place in Andros from 17 to 20 September. On 21 September, the participants visited the facilities of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT), while, the last session of the conference, on 22 September, were hosted at the premises of the Secretariat General of Communication – Secretariat General of Information. |
