Matthew Bogdanos (Marine - Assistant District Attorney, USA)
Called to active duty for the conflict in Iraq, he quickly realized that he had a role to play in saving a significant chunk of Iraq's cultural heritage. Bogdanos led the investigation into the April 2003 looting of the National Museum of Iraq and as of early 2007, almost 6000 stolen antiquities had been recovered in eight countries. He was subsequently awarded the National Humanities Medal for his efforts. In 2005 he wrote a book -- Thieves of Baghdad -- about his adventures recovering stolen art in the chaotic world of post-war Baghdad.

Matthew Bogdanos is a Marine reservist, an assistant district attorney in Manhattan and a student of the classics. He attributes his lifelong interest in the classics to his parents, who had him reading Homer's Iliad and The Odyssey at 12.
Petro Georgiou (born 30 November 1947) is an Australian politician who has been a Liberal member of the Australian House of Representatives since November 1994, representing the Division of Kooyong, Victoria. He was born in Kerkyra, Greece, and was educated at Melbourne University.

Alexi Giannoulias (born March 16, 1976) is the Democratic Illinois State Treasurer. The son of Greek immigrants, he grew up in Chicago, and played professional basketball in Greece for a year before enrolling at Tulane University’s School of Law in New Orleans. After earning his law degree and passing the Illinois Bar exam, Giannoulias took a position as Vice President and Senior Loan Officer at Broadway Bank.
