  • Tuxedomoon - Interviews by John Gill (Paris Transatlantic, Spring 2007)

reininger Tuxedomoon is an internationally renowned music performance group featuring a mix of synthesizers, violins, saxophones and drum machines, founded over 30 years ago in San Fransisco. Today, Tuxedomoon’s co-founder and violinist Blaine Reininger lives in Greece and pursues parallel careers as a solo artist, actor and Tuxedomoon member.  In an interview to digital music magazine Paris Transatlantic, Reininger talks about his Greek experience and why he chose to live here:

“I usually answer this question by saying that "Greece chose me." Athens was the logical choice as the place where there was work for me [...]. This place is full of talented people and great locations to work and play. […]

To their credit, the Greeks are a pretty tolerant lot. They have an ironic sense of humour and are not easily shocked. Anything short of nuclear explosion is seen as pretty tame. And naturally, without the proverbial Greek hospitality, I would not have done as well here as I have.” Read more...

joshchildressESPN's Mark Schward interviews Josh Childerss, an American MBA player that has landed a lucrative deal with Greek basketball club Olympiacos.

Childress talks about living in Greece and playing for a Greek team. 'In Athens, his new basketball home, the fans treat him like a Greek god.

"They're a little bit more passionate about their sports here. You see tons of people in the street who just love you just because you play for their team," Childress says.' Read more...
