Events organised by the Press and Communication Office in Tirana - 2010
November 21st, The Tirana Press and Communication Office participated in a tribute to poet Nikos Kavvadias
The Tirana Press and Communication Office participated in a four day event organized by Tirana Branch of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture with the support of the Greek Embassy, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the poet’s birth.
The event took place in the Black Box hall of the Academy of Arts of Tirana and our Office participated with a lecture on “Women in the poetry of Nikos Kavvadias”, by Press Secretary Florentia Kiortsi.
The aforementioned lecture was also published in Koha Jone daily. Mrs Kiortsi participated also in a round table discussion on the works of the poet the third day of the event, which took place at the Opera of Tirana foyer on Friday, December 3rd. Our Office participated as well in the promotion of the event in Albanian media. The four day event enjoyed broad turnout and media coverage.
November 12th - Rea Galanaki’s “The return of Ferik Pasha” book presentation
ΤΟΕΝΑ publishing house, in cooperation with the Press and Communication Office and the financial support of the Embassy of Greece in Tirana organized the presentation of the Greek writer Rea Galanaki’s book “The return of Ferik Pasha”.
The event took place on November 12th 2010 in the context of the yearly Tirana Book Fair in a venue next to the stand of TOENA house, which has published the aforementioned book in Albanian. Head of the Greek Embassy Press Office, Alexis Georgiadis saluted the event in the presence of the writer, whereas Nikos Katsalidas, ex minister and prominent translator and literary figure who translated this novel and Prec Zogaj, politician and writer, spoke about the book.
The event was attended by important personalities from politics and art, students, as well as media representatives. The event was covered extensively by Albanian press and transmitted live by ORA NEWS TV station.
