New Technologies at SGC-SGI
Public Sector’s National Telecommunication Network SYZEFXIS
In the framework of the Operational Program entitled “Information Society,” SYZEFXIS, the public sector’s National Telecommunication Network connects approximately 1,800 public entities all over Greece. The network is the most important telecommunication project of the public sector and constitutes a pioneer attempt Europe-wide.
The Secretariat General of Communication-Secretariat General of Information was one of the first public entities to be connected with SYZEFXIS, the public sector’s National Telecommunication Network (+30 213 1318000 – 8699). Moreover, in the context of SYZEFXIS, the Secretariat General of Communication-Secretariat General of Information has access to a free broadband internet access (34 Μbps) and equipment of an audio/video teleconference studio, which is already operational.
National Audiovisual Archive
The objectives of the archive are the conservation and preservation of audiovisual and digital material in order to make available the historic and cultural heritage of the country to any interested party. The archive collects, archives, stores, manages, maintains, preserves, processes, provides access and utilizes audiovisual and digital material with informational-news, historical-political and in general socio-cultural content related to the heritage of the Greek state and Hellenism in general.
